Rushanette Martis: A fighter, a believer, and an achiever!

No one can stand in the way of your dreams and your ambitions, except yourself, which is what Rushanette Martis, an ambitious 28-year-old young woman, was taught by her parents. Rushanette, who was born and raised in Curaçao and who is currently living in the Hague, Netherlands, is a fighter, a believer, an achiever, and a little bit of a perfectionist. She is an individual, with true intentions and whose heart is always in the right place.

The start of Sass Studio

When Rushanette was 16, she received her first camera, which she started using immediately due to the women and friends around her who simply enjoyed posing. “So, the passion for it was always there”. After moving to the Netherlands, “I decided to take photography more seriously after a friend, who later on became my business partner, suggested we start shooting again”, in 2017. This was the year when Sass Studio launched, which was the first time Rushanette took photography and videography more seriously. “I wanted to do more than just take portraits. She wanted to give their clients an amazing experience. The main motto of Sass is to make you feel like a celebrity for a day. Additionally, its a photography studio where you don’t have to be a professional model to take beautiful images. Sass Studio is a studio where you feel at ease and comfortable expressing yourself. With the help of their enthusiasm, knowledge, and creativity, their team will make sure to bring out their clients inner-Sass in every picture and providing unique and creative photos. Even though it was a new experience, they continued working hard and capturing memories for their clients and working and honing into their craft. At the end of 2018, they were able to get a location for Sass Studio in the Hague Center, which was a huge accomplishment.

From Sass Studio to Sass Visualz

As Sass continued to grow as they did, both Rushanette and her business partner graduated and started working full-time jobs, which came with new challenges. So, “crucial decisions had to be made. Crucial decisions almost always come with change. I have always embraced change. So, I decided to think about the direction I wanted to take my business”. As a result, the name Sass Visualz was a better fit for Rushanette’s new journey, which is to bring her clients’ visions to life. “The name has changed but the Sass remains the same”. The biggest change is the services they offer. Before 2019, they only offered photography services. Starting September 2019, we will also focus on visual consulting for starting brands and videography packages.

“I just want to advise all women to follow their dreams and ambitions more fearlessly and unapologetically. If not NOW, WHEN? Don’t just dream it, BE IT”.

Plans for Sass Visualz & personal goals

The coming year, Rushanette will be focusing “on putting Sass Visualz on the map as a brand” in the Netherlands. “I’ll be spending more time investing in myself and finding and refining my niches in photography, videography, and visual consulting”. Rushanette is looking to make Sass Visualz her full-time job within the next three years. Additionally, she wants to invest more in her brand and herself by working on her health and her spirituality. “I want to travel more, meet new creatives, and make connections” beyond the Netherlands and Curaçao. Rushanette wants to do what she loves in good health, which is what success means to her. Throughout her journey, she has been dedicated, focused, and she has been sacrificing a lot while also doing the inner work. “It’s one thing to look good on the outside, and it’s another thing to look within yourself and actively work on bettering yourself to serve your life’s purpose better”. Rushanette believes it is important to ask yourself if the goal you are chasing is really what feeds your life purpose. “I just want to advise all women to follow their dreams and ambitions more fearlessly and unapologetically. If not NOW, WHEN? Don’t just dream it, BE IT”.
